The twist n MCA Adun Sg Pelek

A fresh twist has emerged in the case concerning the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock. Documents purportedly showing details of money being siphoned off to non-existent organisations and individuals by certain Selangor state executive councillors have surfaced on the Internet. Documents supposedly showing names, cheque numbers and vouchers for allocations from the state assemblymen’s development allocations appeared on a blog called Truth for Teoh Beng Hock (http://t4tbh.blogspot.com) Friday.

Two state exco members, said to be already under investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on alleged abuse of public funds, were named in the blog. It was earlier reported that seven Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen in Selangor were being investigated for alleged misuse of constituency development funds. They were Teresa Kok (Kinrara assemblyman), Ean Yong Hian Wah (Sri Kembangan), Dr Cheah Wing Yin (Damansara Utama), Elizabeth Wong (Bukit Lanjan), Hannah Yeoh (Subang Jaya), Lau Weng San (Kampung Tunku) and Edward Lee (Bukit Gasing). Kok, Ean Yong, Wong are exco members. Teoh was Ean Yong’s political secretary.

The blog also alleged that Teoh was forced to be involved in the scandal and that he had made copies of all the vouchers and stored them in a disc. He was said to have given a copy of the disc to someone for safe keeping. MACC deputy chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohammed confirmed several state assemblymen were under investigations for alleged misuse of public funds but declined to elaborate.

Meanwhile, in Shah Alam, state executive councillors (exco) Ean Yong Hian Wah and Ronnie Liu are riled over the issue that claimed that allocations meant for the public are being siphoned through events organised in Sungai Pelek constituency. Liu said the blog http://t4tbh.blogspot.com had come up on Thursday with a tag line Truth for Teoh Beng Hock that had a list of 172 projects and events with details of allocations spend from February 28, 2008 before Pakatan Rakyat took over Selangor.

image“Some media personnel had alerted me of this blog and on seeing it, I thought the writer of the blog had taken information from my blog Colour-Blind.org where all allocations given out are posted. But on a closer check, I found that the facts given were twisted,” he said. He added that the name of some companies mentioned were true as his office had some dealings with them to organise events but the writers added certain facts that were made up, like the percentage given to DAP assemblymen.

“At one point the writer claims that Teoh receives RM112 further to that all the allocations given the writer highlights the name of my special assistant Wong Chuan How as a contractor but this is not a true.” “Wong works for me. He deals with the district office in Sungai Pelek to ensure that allocations for the rakyat goes to the people,” he said. Wong is a Sepang councilor in the Sungai Pelek constituency and in the blog it claims that Liu had given Wong 84 projects totaling over RM200,000 with different names of companies.

On the second postings on the blog it alleged that Teoh was embroiled in a scandal where he was forced by Ean Yong and Liu and it gave a picture that Teoh was a reluctant partner in this.

image Liu added that the second posting on the blog had alleged that the DAP was involved in a subtle manner of stealing from the rakyat which he vehemently condemned in the press conference at his office at the state secretariat. “We also find that the writer of the blog had tarnished the image of Teoh claiming that he had made copies of all the false documents and dummy companies that was set up by the DAP. “It also mentions that Teoh had left behind a hard disk with someone which contains a stack of information detailing the corruption by DAP in Selangor thus implying that allocations were being siphoned out,” he said.

An irate Liu also questioned why his name was being dragged into the blog when Teoh was the political aide of Ean. Liu told the press that the documents on the allocations that are on the blog could have been taken from his blog and the details twisted with the aim to sow the seeds of discontent among the other Pakatan coalition members.
