Selfish Motive To Control

To revert the teaching of Maths and Science back to BM is a step backward. The world is changing and fast moving. We are talking about building nuclear power, using atomic energy, reprogramming adult cells into pluripotent stem cells etc. All these research and development informations are documented in English.

In Malaysia we have directors like Vincent Tan the half past six Muslim who cannot write or spell. Then we have professors in UM and other universities who cannot converse in English and even spell. Instead of taking necessary steps to improve the teaching of the English language, Maths and Science, the Government chooses the easy way out, revert it back to BM and let the future be damn. This is the kind of Government that most Malaysians is afraid of. Our future generations will have no future. They cannot communicate with foreigners, they have difficulties understanding what they are reading and signing. With just a stroke of the pen this government under the leadership of Najib have sentence our future generation behind and at par with Zambawi.

Malaysia cannot rely on foreigners to build this and that. We cannot continute to sit back and watch the world go by. Look at the Police force with the latest electronic gadgets and software, only a handful personnel know how to operate them. Then we have latest equipments in hospitals that no-one uses. One example are the scanner machines. How many of it are in use? God knows what that Merican chap is doing beside making himself looking more important than the King.

Knowing our education system had been neglected, backward and use as experiment to test the power of whoever is the Education Minister, many of the Ministers, Datuks, Tan Sri and Tuns themselves do not have their children study in local schools. I am sure even Khairy would not allow his children to study in a government schools in the future. When and how long more does the Government intend to make the ones who cannot afford to send their children to private or international schools as guinea pigs? Mahathir make that mistake and took steps to amend it. Now Najib wants to get the Malay votes for the next election, he sacrifices the future generation and revert back. For a person who had been educated overseas and reads alot, he should be the first one to understand that without the knowledge of English, especially for Maths and Science, this country cannot do business nor able to compete with the expedition for the future.

To say that the learning of Maths and Science in English had widen the gap between the urban and rural is nonsense. The gap was already there. It is the fault of the Education Minister, Ministry and the civil servants who have neglected their duties when they found that playing politic was more fruitful to their bank accounts.

The most important agenda in reverting back to BM was because the government had found that more and more people were beginning to think and read. If this continue Najib and the elite UMNO know that they cannot bully and control the thinking generation. This frightens them.
