Youngest CEO in the world
By Kim Do-yeun
British tabloid The Daily Mail featured the success story of an 8-year-old marble enthusiast on Tuesday. Harli Jordean, also known as the “Marble King,” is making headlines as a young London-based entrepreneur and owner of an Internet business.
Now in its second year, the Marble King’s eponymous Website sells marbles to a steadily growing number of clients and hauls in revenues amounting to thousands of pounds.
The young CEO is described by his mother as obsessed and passionate: “The last thing he talks about before going to bed is marbles and they are the first things he mentions in the morning.”
Jordean’s path to success began as he traded marbles in the playground. He soon found that he could not find a place that could satisfy his search for more marbles and decided to start his own online shop dedicated to the object of his passion.
With the help of his mother, Jordean launched a Website and began ordering stock from suppliers. Now he gets orders from clients as far away as the United States.
The Marble King shared that one of the most important aspects of managing his own business was delegating the work, as he has done with his mother and two older brothers.
Looking ahead, Jordean dreams of producing his own marbles and eventually managing Britain’s biggest marble shop. He has many more years to accomplish the feat.
