A country without leadership may suffer same fate as Brazilian football team, says Najib

A country without proper leadership may end up like the Brazillian national football team in the 2014 World Cup, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Making reference to Wednesday morning’s semi-final match between Brazil and Germany, the Prime Minister said the host nation's defence was kucar-kacir (all over the place) due to a lack of proper leadership.
Brazil’s hopes of winning a record sixth title were crushed following a humiliating 7-1 defeat to Germany. The home nation had gone into the tie without injured talisman Neymar and captain Thiago Silva, who was suspended for a second bookable offence in the quarter-finals.
"If that can happen to a football team, imagine what can happen to a country without leadership, vision, and a commitment to strive for the rakyat's fate.
"The answer is that the outcome would be like the Brazil team," Najib said at a ceremony to present Perdana fellows to Cabinet ministers on Wednesday.
The Perdana Fellows Programme is an internship programme where successful applicants are selected to work with Cabinet ministers for a stipulated period.
