Help to catch the attempted murderer
Malaysians know all too well that driving in Kuala Lumpur can be a frustrating affair, but to crash into a police car in – by most accounts – clear traffic is a pretty drastic thing to do. But that’s exactly what happened recently near Jalan Pudu.
Now the video begins like most dashcam-derived footage do: peacefully. The car that’s doing the recording is going along some roads with moderate to light traffic on the 22nd of June a little after 9am. All is well.
Earlier in the video, we spy a dark blue Volkswagen Polo make its way out to merge into another lane. We don’t see it until around the 3:15 mark (which is where you should skip to for the actual crash) when it accelerates along the inner lane and into a Proton Waja police cruiser.
Even more unbelievable is that after the impact, the Polo doesn’t seem to want to let up – pushing the Waja out of its way and onto the outer lane facing the wrong direction before speeding away.
We really can’t say much more about the Polo, really. It’s a shocking thing to have happened, much more so for the two policemen in the Waja. Luckily, according to the dashcam video owner, Julian Quah, they both only had minor cuts and bruises.
It’s unclear what happened to the blue Volkswagen Polo, but we’ll take a guess that the police would be very interested in having a little chat with its Kamikaze-esque driver. Luckily, this footage exists to help them through the investigations.
Have a look for yourself. Again, if you’d like to skip to actual crash, head to the 3:15 mark.
