Sin Money

We are so corrupted that life without greed for just a day is simply impossible. I hated the ways things are only done when money is given. The most corrupted are the civil servants, follow by the semi-government.

The monopoly of puspakom to inspect all types of vehicle is one good example. Since the beginning they have incorporated the Indian system of bribes. Meaning from the inspectors down to the person who write down your particulars they all share the sin money. Buses, Lorries and Taxis are the hardest hit. A sum of RM50 maybe now RM100 must be given together with your particulars before they bother to touch your car. Yes just to touch. That will take as long as five hours. Then it will follow the line and some jerk will just go through the inspections and you are given the green pass. If there is any hitch on the vehicle another RM50 will do nicely.

I have spoken to many taxi drivers who complain endlessly that if they do not pay they are not able to earn a living for that day. The rascals at puspakom can play you for two to three days finding endless fault until you are forced to give in. Though many complaints have been received by DRB-HICOM and the Ministry concern, no action has been taken so far.

Being semi private company one would think these things do not occur because the staffs are well paid. But a habit cannot be broken. Most of these jerks were brought up or rather taught earlier that if you tak terima you are not smart. So to be smart and clever you must take bribe no matter how small but then now, small means RM50 but just nice would be RM100.

So imagine if estimated 100,000 vehicles come for inspection and you have to pay RM50 (old rate) that comes up to RM5million as bonus. Which donkey does not want to work there?
