Underwear to prevent extramarital affairs

By Oh Ro-sy

A man in Gwangju invented underwear two years ago, which is designed to prevent extramarital affairs, according to the Hankook Ilbo newspaper Thursday.

The man, surnamed Jeong, applied for a patent for the briefs with heat-sensitive paint which is colorless but presents color if temperatures change, the report said. To be specific, the color of the briefs changes when temperatures drop to below 31 degrees Celsius.

When people take off the underwear for a while, its color changes because human’s normal body temperature is 36-37 degree Celsius, and never back to the original color. So, the patent applicant claimed that the new briefs can prevent affairs once partners wear it.

It is difficult to prejudge whether the patent can be registered because its content is open to the public.

However, it has some drawbacks in terms of commercialization.

The partner could remove the underwear for a long time in a sauna or a restroom. Even in winter, its color could be altered if people urinate outside. In other words, the relationship of a couple may worsen by misunderstanding when a partner puts on the color-changing underwear.

Can't wait to see how profitable this underwear will be in Malaysia.
