Even the most casual observer of our nation’s politics will not fail to notice the growing influence of China in our national affairs. Chinese envoy to visit project sites in 6 states
According to a Sin Chew Daily report, the tour will start this month and will cover six states and 12 projects.
The projects are in the fields of education, property, manufacturing, finance, agriculture, oil refining and nuclear energy development.
Last Saturday, former Malaysian diplomat Dennis Ignatius said in a comment piece carried by FMT that he expected China to invest, lend and spend “at least half a trillion ringgit on infrastructure, property development and other projects” across Malaysia.
He said the Chinese ambassador’s support represented an endorsement of the Barisan Nasional government.
Sin Chew also reported that Huang went on a short trip to Muar last weekend and visited Chinese groups there.
He gave a speech at Muar’s Kwong Siew Chinese Association in which he urged Malaysians of all political persuasions to stand united in the interest of the country’s economic development.
