Two Perodua Myvi drivers who were involved in the accident which killed three including a baby at Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway had been released on police bail today. Federal traffic police chief Datuk Mohd Fuad Abd Latiff said the 31-year-old man and 35-year-old woman were released after police had recorded their statements. "They are released on police bail but will need to report themselves at the traffic police station in the city within these two weeks," he said. The duo was earlier picked up while seeking treatment at Kuala Lumpur hospital (HKL). He added the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death with reckless driving. Yesterday, the Perodua Myvi traveling in a convoy of several vehicles of the same make was believed to have grazed a Mitsubishi Pajero driven by Fairuz Nizam Husain, 35. The impact caused Fairuz's vehicle, which was on the middle lane to swerve and crashed into another Perodua Myvi on the left lane before spinning several times and overturned. The driver and passengers were thrown out of vehicle in the incident. Fairuz died on the spot while his wife, Nova Salfitri Azhari, 27, and their seven-month-old baby, Nur Firuza Annisa succumbed to their injuries at HKL. Police had so far recorded statements from all parties including an eyewitness.
