Man claims he was shot by police

KUALA LUMPUR: A 24-year-old man has claimed that he was shot by four
men who identified themselves as policemen when he refused to get out of
his car.
S. Mahendran who lives in Sentul said the incident
occurred at 5am on March 3 when he was leaving a restaurant in his car
along Jalan Khalsa off Jalan Ipoh here.
“Three men in
plainclothes and on motorcycles pulled up next to me at the traffic
junction and identified themselves as policemen.
“They ordered me
out of the car. I refused and instead asked them to show their police
identity cards first,” he said during a press conference held with
Suaram at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall.
Mahendran,
who is unemployed, said he had been a victim of two robberies in 2012
and most recently in February this year and was afraid the men in
plainclothes could be posing as bogus cops.
He drove to a police
station in Jalan Kasipillay and the trio on motorcycles trailed him
there. A fourth man claiming to be a policeman also asked him to get out
of the car.
“I feared for my safety and decided to leave but as I
was driving off, I knocked into one of the motorcycles belonging to the
men. The next thing I heard was gun shots and I felt pain in my left
thigh,” he said, adding that the group did not pursue him.
Mahendran called his father, who lives in Klang, and the father told him to get a friend to drive him to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
Mahendran
underwent surgery at the hospital and upon being discharged, found out
he is being investigated by the Sentul police for attempted murder and
is currently on police bail.
“I have lodged a police report on
the matter and hope the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters or Bukit Aman
would look into my case,” he said.
He added that he is astounded
by the alleged policemen opening fire outside a police station and
having the cheek to investigate him for attempted murder.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Zakaria Pagan confirmed the case and said police are investigating.
*****************************************
There is no difference between police and robbers. Let me tell you about them.
On many occasions travelling in a car I see couple of plain clothes men stopping motorists on the pretext of checking for I don't know what. But what I witness are these plain clothes men emptying the wallets of their victims. If the plain clothes men are not happy with their findings the poor victims are given a body search and are asked to take off their shoes, socks. I was informed by these victims that they were verbally abused and sometimes got beaten up for carrying only a few ringgit which anger the plain clothes men.
Policemen like to eat at road side stalls. They do not come alone, usually about three to seven of them in uniform with the official patrol cars. They order their food and chit chat for more than an hour. Once finish they simply leave without paying. These policemen do that all the times and everywhere. They think these stalls give out free food. Even the homeless people do not do that unless invited.
Every Wednesday, patron to the night market are robbed by plain clothes men. These plain clothes men are policemen from Cheras and Ampang.
Snatch thieves has become a daily routine and aplenty. Everyday at least eleven to twenty women fall victims. It does not matter the time. There is a police pondok just round the corner but one can never see the policemen on their round. Even lodging a police report there is discourage. Some of these snatch thieves are policemen again from Cheras and Ampang.
I can go on and on but who will take the lead to stop these happenings?
As for Mahendran, there will not be any finding that is for sure. Case will automatically close.
