A BOY was kept locked up as a sex slave in a bedroom with purpose built alarms to prevent him escaping for six years, during which time he was often threatened, hit and denied food and water by his adult male captor, police in the US claim.
Robert Pratt stands accused of the crimes and has not been granted bail after pleading not guilty to to sex charges and unlawful restraint in the town of Bennington, Vermont, Associated Press reports.
The boy, now aged 17, lived with Mr Pratt from 2003 until he moved back in with his mother in September of this year.
The alleged victim has told police Mr Pratt, 37, sexually abused him, hit him when he tried to escape and sent him to school in long sleeves to hide the bruises and scars.
